for mixing, which highpass do you, pro mixing engineer, use the most ?

12 db ?

The most? Probably 18. I use the others, too.

That depends on the instrument.

Normal kicks generally 12, 808s 24 (tightens them up)

all of them, depending on the audio passing trough and the frequency i'm cutting on and a lot of other factors...

Really depends on how its being used, but usually higher than 12. Sometimes you just need a gentle curve but I find I do that less often.

I'm all for variable freq as well... thumbsup

My fave EQ has an infinitely variable HP/LP slope, has no graduated referencing. I just move the frequency and slope til I get what sounds right.
