I think it's Feng Shui, or maybe they are Mojo Channels, to prevent excessive buildup of mojo in the room. Or, they may be tuned traps perhaps. When they look that impressive they don't actually have to do anything, you just assume that they are doing something really important and that's good enough.

Those are diffusers which are designed to break up and scatter sound waves.

But the ones up on the top actually go up into a recessed area behind the lights, which was why I was lead to assume those might be a tuned trap.

The CR was clearly designed to lure Prince to the studio...

They have Kino****a mains, and assuming they are in Japan- Kino****a might have helped them to build the studio.
Read up on Kino****a and they ideas of sound, its actually very spiritual and interesting

Yea, those chairs in the picture right? Not the usual studio chair with black large back rest that we commonly see in Recording Studios.

that is one of 6 studios owned by a Tokyo Japanese tv company kinda like NBC or BBC. They prolly dumped some serious dough on studio 1, big enough for a whole orchestra, and yes it faces mount fuji, I didnt look very hard at the other 5 studios but they are spread out all over tokyo. look nice.

Even the maps on their website look great! Pity I don't speak Japanese, I'd love to know what all their credit lists are.

It looks like they use a 72-channel Neve VR? (Stereo)

Nice color-matching on the outboard racks!

Those fins on the ceilings and walls do something, I'm sure. But not very much, considering their dimensions.
