Will Logic 9.1.2 cause problems on a 2x2.66 dual core Mac Pro running 10.5.8?

I'm really sorry if I'm posting questions that have been answered elsewhere, I tryed to search and came up with nothing specific.
The title says it all, I've read loads of threads saying that 9.1.2 slows down performance on certain computers and cant figure out wether my mac would be affected.
I'm still using Leopard, I would also like to know if its safe to upgrade to Snow Leopard
Many thanks!
