ULN-2 as a preamp

Sometimes I use only the preamp on my ULN and send the signal to the HEDD AD.
The signal is about 10db lower that it is on the ULN.

What is happening here?

Just an educated guess, but the HEDD is probably calibrated lower than the ULN-2. And also, just to double check because this can cause a level drop, that your TRS quarter inch outputs are properly wired fully balanced pin 2 hot to the XLR.

Isn't 10-11db lower too much?
After all a 0 VU signal from my board is showing -18 dbFS on HEDD.
Fair enought...

Its not the cables

If I put a -12 dbFS sine wave and send it to HEDD digitally its ok.

My problem is when I send the signal from ULN-2 "send" to HEDDs input.

Any ideas?

I understand that, but short of there being an actual electronic malfunction with one of the units, the two suggestions are the only thing I can personally think of.

I got this answer but I don't have an idea what is this all aboutheh

"This makes sense. The FP meters show the level at the A/D in terms of
digital level post conversion (which is also post trim). The send is
pre-trim.
Use the meters on the device you are sending to to determine
the proper gain. You can use the trim to adjust the level going to the
ULN-2 A/D to make it match up with the HEDD."

There is actually a chart for this on your ULN-2 Control panel, but this is what that note explained to you.

Microphone----->input---------> Trim->A/D Conversion-->Meter
(signals splits here)|->Send Out->HEDD (or whatever you plug it into)
