M5000

Hi all

I have a chance to buy a TC M5000 effects unit for what seems a fairly cheap price.£750 (Approx $1,250)....With 1 effect engine installed

Basically i just wanted all your expert opinions, how this unit compares to such units as the Lexicon PCM 81,and the TC M3000.ETC......

Regards Paul

that's a very good price. The M5000 is a high end machine ... allways will be. I still use the M5000 presets in the sys6000.

Does it come with the MD2 option ??? if it does it's definately a good buy.

compared to the pcm91 or the m3000 ... different machines if you ask me. The M5000 is more versatile then any of those. expandable to 4 engines, MD2 dynamics can be added. and the reverbs are at least as good.

Thanks i am definatley considering buying it,but one thing is worrying me.
The guy selling it was honest enough, and said it went back to T.C Factory because of overheating problems....
This was when he first bought it new some 4 years ago.
And the result was a new casing for some reason....

Was this a common fault with the first machines....?

Absolutely. They all had P.S. problems over time, and a fix was finally made by TC. It having gone back to TC is a good thing.

I bought a dual engine M5000 new years ago. Great box. Get it.
