Just look back at all the old Peluso and Mojave threads, and see the exact same things said about them......
I think the shame.... The slutz feber

No - I haven't...I'm going to though. I'm really interested to see how it differs from the C7. I have a feeling it's going to have a little rounder top end and maybe a bigger bottom. The C7 is just great.

I'll post a song I'm finishing (using the C7 on vocals) in a couple of hours...

Mik Tek shootout vs. Mojave

Without any disrespect to this new company:it seems that every second american who has an affiliation with recording, knows the Chinese company where you get the bodies and everything, starts a new mic company.

Cool. And they all sound much better then the higher priced competition.. And everyone who heard them is so impressed with it... And the most important thing: it's so rare and the first batch is sold out.. Common place your preorder now or you will not be able to buy one!

Good luck.

Thanks John looking forward to it! the vocal example for the CV4 on the miktek website is not very good, too roomy sounding. This is why i was hoping someone here would post a good snippet of what the C7 sounds like.

Here's a song I just finished...All vocals were done with the C7. So, the chain is the C7-Helios-Digi003. I took out a little 700K and rolled off the sub 60Hz a little.
I'll post some raw tracks with nothing on them in a little while...

Yeah - that's kind of a worthless vocal track on the C7 page, isn't it...

Thanks! I'm using the CLA 1176 and CLA LA2A in that order on the vocal tracks and harmonies...Put Cloner (vocal doubler thingy in Cubase) on harms. Also taking off about 1db with FG-X...

ok.. I might have post my review a bit earlier, before you sent me to coventry.. heh

the files do not sound good. is that due to the mic, pre, room/acoustics? what should they demonstrate? the mic seems to lack midpresence, and lower mid information. it's seems to be very dark which is obviously not a bad thing.

so what's the point? thanx for posting.

Nice sounding mic on the raw vocal. Not a lot of sibilance. Very balanced
in the lows, not too much proximity, but not too thin. Did you HPF on the
preamp or mic? How close was the vocalist to the mic? It doesn't have a
midrange peak problem so many have, and the high is fairly natural. That
actually reminds me of another American made mic in its price range, the
Mojave Audio MA 201 FET. Similar design & price. That'd be a great test.

There was no HPF engaged...the processed file has the bottom rolled off a little. I was about 5 to 6 inches off, so not right up on it. You're right about it being balanced - it doesn't build up on the bottom or the top. The lack of sibilance is really what impressed me the most. It's a very detailed top without sibilance and without sacrificing the top end. I'm really interested to hear the CV4...

Great song, I really didn't like the sound of the vocals though, too sharp, no low mids.

Not that it really matters if it sounds good (I'm a big fan personally), but the Mojave microphones are not made in America.

You're right, they're not entirely made here, it's a hybrid of sorts. Still
better than 100 % overseas. Bagged, tagged, and sold to us, as that.

...I agree...it's not that they sound bad...they sound OK...missing something...the lack of sibilance is good but there also seems to be a lack of "air" on top...just my humble opinion...

It's so funny. If this mic had a brighter top we would be hearing people post about how brittle the "cheap Chinese capsules" are. This is the danger of posting any kind of samples. If anything, I think the C7 lacks a big bottom. That's my only complaint. But then again, I'm constantly pulling the below 100hz out of acoustics and vocals anyway. I think that the fact that they are tuning these caps with less top is a huge plus.

I should have a CV4 tonight or tomorrow, so I'll post some samples of that too. The ultimate judge of any mic is personal experience. I've found that this mic has qualities of much more expensive mics e.g. Not thinning out when pushing them - retaining the frequency spectrum. This is a really fantastic mic at this price range.

That's the sound of his voice, you buffoon. Has nothing to do with the mic.

His voice and the mic sound great.
