Voice Allocation in ProTools 5.1/MixPlus

Having extreme difficulties managing the voice allocation feature.

As you can see the first block which in this case is the verse backing vocals
uses voices b1-b12.

The second block is the prechorus BV´s and uses the same voices as in the verse but with b13- to b17 added since there are more tracks.

The chorus can´t allocate voice b15, its greyed out. No other voice in the B section is avilable, just the A voices.

Is it supposed to be like this? Is there a workaround except bouncing?

Are you using the 32 voice playback engine or the 64 voice version?

it is selectable you know..

carefull that your blocks dont 'cross' at the 32 / 33 voice split point..

Good luck...

2DSPs used.

2 MIx engines maxed out (as always) + 88% on the StereoMixer 24.
Our system is a mixplus4 so there are 21 chips available.

What do you mean by this:
"cross at the 32/33..."
