A big thanks from Michael Brauer.

Two bulls are on top of a hill looking down at a herd of cows. The younger bull snorts, stamps his hoof and says “let’s run down there and do us a couple of cows”, the older wiser bull says “I’ve got a better idea, let’s walk down there and do them all”.

What’s the message? Not sure, but there’s got to be one in there somewhere.

My little visit is over. It’s been a fun month, thank you.

Thanks Jules for making my introduction to the world of gearslutz such a pleasant experience. You’re extra work in preparing and moderating the questions were much appreciated by all of us. I look forward to meeting you at the AES show next week.

Thanks also goes to you guys for the great questions and for some very funny remarks. It made me think real hard about what I believe in and I’m better for it. Of all the 165+ questions I’ve been asked, some were particularly good so I want to thank these guys:
Nek-gear vs. the engineer who is using the gear
JFK,-Producer/Engineer Managers
Scruffydog -Drugs in the studio
2Leod- Passion, music and the muse...
Sanchez - Hard concepts for a soft world?
Kestral - Getting Through The Tough Times
Wackowill- Assistant Engineers
Dokushoka- Pitching the "Inspried" mix to a client
Gainreduction- How do you get the most out of vocals ?
Jules- Does multibuss compression work on everything?
Thethrillfactor- SSL 9000J for mixing rock
Karlphasor- How do you define the space for the music in a song?

See you around. Take care, michael

Awesome Michael!

Thanks a million from all of us...

This whole months guest forum will soon be archived in the guest moderator archives (lower down on the main forum list) Folks should not be surprised if some of these questions & answers reappear on Michaels own Q&S section of his website in the near future.

I will copy this post & the 'thank you Michael' post to live on in my forum so folks can continue show their appreciation!

It's been more than great having you do this... really.

Thanks so much!

Here for the gear

Great Q&A format, brilliant answers from Mr. Brauer without exception and a truly marvellous job by Jules from start to finish. Tough questions as well. I love this place.

(Been lurking around these parts for almost two years and finally took the big step out to the daylight... feels great!)

that must have been the most exciting and surely one of the funniest months I spent in the WWW.... I learned a LOT.... and your whole approach in music, buisness & life kept me asking myself a whole bunch of important questions when reading your posts...

your passion for music and this job was a great help & inspiration in making some decisions for my career & kiddin!! thanx so much.

.....and at the end of this inspiring month suddenly the phone rang and I was asked to help designing a friends new facility....and maybe to move in with all my stuff, too.
geeeeeeeez....what´s happening, what a year... maybe my first real studio ???

It's been a great month and I hope that you hang out here often. It was a mind-opener to read your posts and how you do what you do.

We really need more of you here... Perhaps you would consider a 'moderator' position here...? You don't have to read/answer everything---just a few a week is okay too!

Once again, thanks for sharing with us your experiences and techniques. We enjoyed it a lot!

Thank you.

Thanks Michael.

I learned a lot from all your threads and thanks so much for replying such detail to my question on assistant engineers.

It must make such a difference to learn from somebody with such high standards!

Good luck with everything and hopefully we'll see you back here soon.
