JJ Audio Mutt (kinda hybrid old school and modern at the same time)

JJ Audio Red Schnauzer (sweet top end, phat mids and lows)

Kosmonaut (Royer Modded MK319)

Soon to be additions to the "kennel":

JJ Audio Chihuahua (super warm low end and extended top end, nice and phat!)

JJ Audio Akida (extra bright and compressed sounding with dope low end)

Still in the oven:

JJ Audio American Husky (crooner mic)

Not in any particular order:

TLM103
C414XL-II
Cascade Fathead II w/Lundahl
GT MD1 Original
Shure SM7b
Soundelux U195
M149 (not mine, but comes to the studio sometimes)
RCA 44BX (same as above)
Heil PR30 (actually found some interesting uses for this. It's sort of like an SM7b...but it has its own thing going on in the midrange)
Probably others that i cant think of at the moment

my goto vocal mics:

U87ai
Peluso 2247 LE
4050 (I'd be ok if I only had a bucket of these for a mic collection )
RE20
Sm7b
audio-technica ATM61HE (you're only cheating yourself if you don't go out and get one of these discontinued gems on the used market now. Totally awesome mic that kills the SM58 and Beta 58)

It's totally dependent on the material & the singer, but almost always one of the following:

Neumann M49c
Brauner VM1 KHE
Brauner VMA
Lucas CS1
Wunder CM7
Gefell UM75
Gefell UM900
AEA R84
EV PL20
Fostex M11RP (on my voice only)

For vocals, I'd have the following all set up to try out:

Soundelux 251
Sony C800G
M149
U47

Among those, I usually always get the sound I want except once a few years ago when a particular singer only sounded good through a Shure SM57... but that was only once. heh

I use various ones on singers, but for "my" vocal mic, it's always a 57, 58 or 47.

Nothing fancy, yet.

Blue Bluebird
SM7B
SM57

Depending on the vocalist I'll occasionally toy around with an SDC like an MXL 603. I also keep an SM58 around for emergencies. It seems to be a 'comfort' mic for nervous vocalists who've never recorded in a studio before.
