2-Bus EQ and Lo Cut

If/when I decide to get a decent EQ for the 2-Bus, one of the things i would use it for would be to filter out extremely low frequencies.

Is this a worthwhile use for an outboard EQ? Will I get better phase response by doing it OTB with a high-end EQ, or is a basic ITB EQ sufficent?

And lastly, some of the companies are a bit vague regarding the frequency of their low cut switch. A-Designs Hammer, for instance...Couldn't find anything. Is there a standard?

Thanks for any thoughts...

if you're going otb i'd do it for the vibe not for the hpf alone. the hammer will give you both. i use the ibis on most of my mixes.
