Going to buy pro tools HD pcix ---- a few questions now that Digi dropped support

1st please don't mention pt le other dAws etc .

How much can I find a used core card pcix?

Will prices go lower now that digi drop support for ppc macs ?

How much does a used digital 192 go for?

Can I add a digital card to a digital 192 or does it work only for the regular 192?

Does the digital 192 have any analg outs for monitoring? I'm guessing not but is there a stereo analog expansion card (3rd party maybe) or the 8 channel is the only one?

Can I add a digital expansion to the digital 192 and also a analog expansion and be ok with one core card? Not runnng many tracks . Less than 32 ( again plase do not mention le)

when I buy a used core card, is t implied that the software will come with it or usually people keep it for thier new rig? I'll still ask but just to be informed .

Same as above bu with plugins. What plugins does pt HD comes with?
I lost track from so many offers , software versions etc .
I'm thinking staying in version 7 not only because I now it but because of the digi dop support for ppc

(mac g5 dual 2.5 / 8 gigs of ram)

Used PCI-X $1800-$2000

No you can't add Digital Card to a 192 Digital I/O because you don't have to.
A Stock Digital 192 I/O comes with 16 channels of I/O which is the max it will support.

You can Have 2 -192's MAX per card (32 channels of I/O per card)

Will prices go lower now that digi drop support for ppc macs ?

Probably not because if buy a Magma PE6R4 chassis you can use PCI-X cards with a Mac Pro. So PCI-X cards are still supported fully wit Protools software.

No & No - You will need a Digital to Analog convertor or connect it to a Digital Console for monitoring.

Sometimes - you will have to ask as if your buying a used card you may be buying an older version of Protools a new copy of Protools 8 TDM goes for $200.00

Thx for the thoughrough response .
Very informative.

So a digital 192 can only go up to 16 channels?!
Damn. Seems kinda of a lot of money for that pony.

It's significantly cheaper than other options though. Pro Tools hardware is really just the tip of the high end iceberg.

Yes. I'd like higher end stuff like I really would like the ssl delta madi interface and and rme adat/madi
converter to use out from my slave computers and main daw to pro tools to be able to mix and print stems for delivery ,
But for now I'll have to go for a hd1 a digital 192 and the adat bridge
Which would go for 4k. That's almost the price of that delta ssl.

I wouldn't consider the rme to be more "high end" than the digi converters.

another quick question..

how many channels of adat does the regular 192 have and how many does the digital 192 have?

i read the manual for the regular 192 and it says that it has 16 channels of adat but i only see 2 adat ports on the pix. which adds up to 8 in and 8 outs. which would be 8 channels not 16. is it a markeing gimick to say it has more i/0 or can u configure it to be both outs and or both ins?

does anyone work here with adat by any chance?

8 Channels of ADAT I/O a Stock 192 you can get an additional 8 if you get an optional digital I/o card (400-500- used)
for a total of 16

A 192 Digital has 16 Channels of ADAT I/O
