simple and transparent patchbay. a bit of help?

the day has come (finally!) where i have more outboard pres than I/O on my interface, so i think it's about time i sort myself out with a patchbay.

my setup is very simple: MOTU 896HD, 8 channels of mic pre and one DI. there is also the possibility that i will, one day, be heading into the world of outboard EQ and compressors!

so i don't need anything elaborate, just a simple (and lossless) means to route all the I/O to one neat front panel.

i don't want to go down the soldering route and my knowledge of electronics is rather poor. would an XLR patchbay be the best option for this?

many thanks,

nick
