Alternative to Presonus Digimax

Hi all!

I'm looking for if there's an alternative to the Presonus Digimax.

I know there's a lot of similar alternatives like the Focusrite Octopre (with digital option) but it lacks the limiter that the Digimax has.
So I would like eight channels of preamp, limiter function, and at least two line in. Any one knows any thing

The Octopre does have a limiter actually. It has a compression knob which once you turn it past a certain point switches to a limiter circuit. It has one on every channel too. It also has 10db more gain from memory too though I could be wong.

I just checked the Presonus website, the Octopre actually has 20db more (60db) gain than the Digimax (40db). I was thinking of the M-Audio Octane which has 50db of gain.

Another alternative could be the Audient ASP008, with additional ADAT expansion, but it doesn't have the limiter; one word about the Octopre: I have it like it for the money, and though the compressor can be handy sometimes to keep some erratic sources under control, the limiter actually isn't worth a lot; if what you want is just a lifesaver to prevent overs then it's OK, but don't think you can avtually control compression on it as you would do with a standard 4 knob comp unit: no way. I guess the same thing can be said about the Digimax.

Hope this helps

My Digimax LT has 60dB of gain. Thats what it says on the front panel, anyways.

Yeah, I think the 40db is for line inputs and the 60db is for XLR inputs.

Ahh, thanks for the corrections. I obviously didn't read the site well enough.
