$65.00 Weighted drum tuner...

bought it at guitar center...

Now Joe Schmo who dumped 1500- 3000 on that nice drum set can hear what his drums sound like properly tuned..

Also Little Labs STD- 125.00 --- best splitter box I have used so far- no degradation..

1980 Squier Made in Japan Strat, rosewood board. My favorite guitar ever; haven't been able to find a backup. I've bought many Fender and other makes of Strats, but this one has the magic. An incredibly good guitar. Bought it for $235 in a music store in South Texas a couple of years ago.

Taking a cheap guitar and setting it up for Nashville tuning (like the high 6 strings of a 12 string). Too cool. Longtime GearSlutz have read my raves about doubling with Nashville tuning.

Ebow.

MBox'es are getting closer and closer to that $300 ballpark. I keep finding new uses for mine -- the latest was saving a session at an HD studio and on my Powerbook then doing edits & emailing the Pro Tools session itself -- since the same session was saved on both Macs, there was no need to email the audio.

I'm trying to buy a Fender Pro Jr. -- I have yet to snag one, but they seem to be going for $200 or so. What a cool amp -- so basic! I have used 'em. You can use an external spkr with 'em, too.

Guitar & bass setups & maintenance/new strings/high quality tuner. If it's not intonating/tuning well, then what good is that high end signal chain REALLY gonna do?

Hard drives, CD & DVD burners. Back it up, and how!!!

I'd put promotional materials on that list, too, but I haven't promoted in a while. I'm 100% booked right now. If I was in a different situation, though, that's probably the first place I'd put my $$$. It takes money to make money.

A Yamaha FG413 acoustic guitar, bought a couple of years ago and it's a damn stellar sounding instrument. Gets used on lots of stuff and picked over more expensive guitars quite often.

The Ibanez Jet King electric is also a hell of a bang for the buck $300-ish guitar. Tap the coils from humbucker to single coil, the humbuckers are dangerously close to a full on Gibson sound and the singles get pretty close to a Strat sound anyhow.

Percussion items, shakers...tambourines...they get used on a lot of stuff also and bands don't bring that **** in or even think about it most times. When they hear how it can build a song and a mix it opens their eyes.

CAD M179 microphones, I freakin' love 'em for fat overheads. Not a cheap bright mic, very balanced but meaty on drums.

2 Slingerland snares, a 4.5x14" steel for $69 and a 6.5x14" copper for $99. Bought about a year ago, they're Chinese made and very well built and heavy. That steel one gets picked a LOT. The copper has a very mellow metallic sound that is great too.

Radial JDI, now there's a clean D.I. for ya.

AKG K141S headphones, very comfortable and not fatiguing.

Just out of curiousity, why would anyone buy a Re-Amp or X-Amp pedal when the Radial JDI does the same thing, yet it can also double as a DI?

No one does it better then reamp. He has the patent on the design.... for anyone else to do it, they have to use a convoluted path to get around the patent.
