Can you run a firewire rack into digi 003 firewire port?

I have a T.C. electronic rack mountable plugin proccessor. Its supposed to connect to the Computer via firewire but because of its location I would have to get a long firewire cable. But in the back of the Digi 003 there is a second firewire port. I dont know why there would be another one,but can I run my T.C. electronics straight into the 003 without have to go straight to my computer. My mac only has one firewire port in the computer which the monitor cable goes into then I have 2 firewire ports in the monitor because of this cable. So basically in order for me to hook up 2 devices they would have to connect to the back of the monitor and with the monitor control arm in would look sloppy. This is the other reason why I am trying to see if I can go straight into the 003,in case someone tells me to just buy a longer cable.

Thankx

No

That is for a hard drive, which is sketchy to involve there at best.

I would not chain any audio devices. It will fail.
