RME Fireface 800 vs. MOTU 2408 Mk3

Hi !

We currently work in the studio with a MOTU 2408 Mk3, linked to a PC with Cubase SX3 installed.
It works fine, and the converters are good !

I have an iBook G4 with 750 Mb of RAM, and would like to get me into a mobile recording solution, which we could also use in the studio, in addition to the MOTU interface.

How does the Fireface compare to the MOTU 2408 ? Which has best converters ? what are the advantages/disadvantages of each ? I really want to know more about the RME converters.

If you're really after a truly mobile solution I'd suggest you research Metric Halo as well as these products are capable of being bus-powered from the iBook and can run off a camera battery too; they are no slouch in the audio department either!

Warning...
Bus power is not all that it is cracked up to be...
