Waiting for Fletcher, a new film.

I think Fletcher works way too hard.

I wish we had polititians that spoke that honestly!

I'm sure he and his family are in need of a summer vacation.

How about we set up a fund to help finance a well deserved break?

Any ideas of where he would like to go or for non-fans, where you think he should go?

I'm in the inenviable position of being anti-Fletcher, but pro asskissing.

I think some of us have already paid for a few of his vacations.

If you stop taking people like Fletcher seriously for gear buying, why are you here?

i am not kissing anyones asss.
i like reading what flechter say's, i find him to be entertaining.
i do not eat up everything he say's, nor do i take it as gospel, and sometimes i might even wonder if he's been smokin hoochy weed but!
if i have to make a gear decision based on his opinion alone, i will, listen to what he as to say.
now i look forward to fletchers poetic reply to this thread.

Some random thoughts on the topic:

1) Often times people with endorsements will hype gear as a "thank you" to the manufacturer so they can continue to get free gear.

2) Just because a dealer steers you to a cheaper piece of gear doesn't necessarily mean anything, the cheaper gear may have a larger profit margin.

There are, in fact, SIX Fletchers remaining of the original 33 built.

I would know.

We are rebuilding #4 here from the ground up.

Getting a lot of the parts is a next to impossible task and the intermittant Molex connectors make ya wonder why ya bothered.

You can always tell when yer in the presence of #4 because that's the model that LEAPS to his feet and starts dancing the mashed potato the minute any Spice Girls track comes on.

I'm pretty sure none of the other models can dance a lick, although #2 is purportedly capable of a mean Spider Goulash.

Anyhoo.

He's 100% Discrete, Class A throughout, and he really should be left on for at least 2 hrs. before operation. Otherwise the Frimmin relay has a tendancy to go "Von Stauffenberg effect" on ya and we all know where THAT ends.

A DESPOTIC UTOPIA.

Can't have that.

Drives up interest rates and school taxes.

Best to all,

SM.

Once again Slippy, you are a little late to the party.

I've got the "Fletcher" Plugin. That's right. It absolutely acts, talks and bitches about manufacturers almost as good as the real thing.

The beauty of mine is that I can get more than 26 instantiations per Accel Chip.

And it requires no DeTox it to keep him loose. No maintenance at all in fact.

And unlike that "real" Fletcher that you are building, it doesn't take vacations.

I already have 52 different variations of his Neve Portico review. Jealous?

The only thing I could never figure out about Fletcher is why he insists on using Glenn Frey's picture everywhere he goes.

I agree- I would guess it probably gets pretty annoying after awhile....
lol. you should see the responses and passion of his supporters, when his style gets criticized. it's totally fair game if they want to reasonably explain why the criticism is wrong, but you got others acting and explicitly telling others that it is not legitimate for them to express criticism of fletcher at all, however, reasonable or civil - that people should keep silent.

man, not even jesus gets that :D

'how dare you even think to criticize our glorious leader ..........
viva che fletcher."

lol. actually, it's kind of creepy also. i think fletcher might even let down his ego enough to find it bizaree this 'cult of personality' around him!

Fletcher is an interesting guy... I have stated on threads many times before how funny it is when people take dealers and manufacturers word as gospel with no regard for their intentions... Fletcher is the best/most obvious example. He is cool, no disrespect to him, but he does have reasons for his opinions. He uses a lot of gear (??) I guess, I know he deals gear... I do not know what he does recording wise (I have never heard anything he has recorded or mixed, etc.), so I do not know if I would like the same gear as he does. He is on a forum to spread his word, which will hopefully generate sales for him. That puts him in a different position. Sometimes it seems some people forget that, and become sheep in a heard. Many people have/will make or advance a career by living on forums.... nothing wrong with that. It is the people who indulge it that make it possible.

Just remember: You will never hear any dealer say anything bad about products they sell.... Sometimes with dealers who frquent the forums: you will get subtle (well phrased) implications that something else may be better for your applications (Always something they deal).... Coincidence???

Then the sheep will chime in and take over pushing the product/dealer
Precisely!

The business of business it that it's a dirty business so let's not expect anyone in it to have their hands completely clean... But I don't think any less of people like Fletcher just because of that. If anything you gotta admire his marketing tactics- of course admiring and being subject to are two different things!
