Tokyo Police Club - Elephant Shell

I know that some people may not think that this band is incredibly talented, but I absolutely LOVE this CD. The way in which the band is captured is truly great.

If anybody knows anything about this CD such as mixing engineers, mics, the studio..ANYTHING... I would love to hear it.

..and if you haven't heard the CD, i'd urge you to check it out.

I believe it was recorded at Chemical Sound here in Toronto and mixed by the fantastic Peter Katis (The National, Interpol). I have no idea what mics were used but you can check out the studio gear at :: CHEMICAL SOUND RECORDING STUDIO ::.
I agree, it sounds great.

You're right!
I snatched this picture from the site.
Can anybody tell what mics they're using on the kit?

Yeah, do a search for Peter Katis or Tarquin Studios. That guy's a monster engineer/producer. There are even a couple threads around here somewhere in which he discusses some pretty specific approaches.

I was the engineer for the sessions that were performed in Toronto at Chemical Sound Studios.
Was there anything in particular that you wanted to know?

You can check out the studio's website here: CHEMICAL SOUND Splash Page
