Opinions of Brent Averill's products

I am about to purchase a 1073 from Brent Averill, so I reasoned that it would be wise to ask the Gearslutz forums' opinion of these products. Thanks in advance.

I have a set of the original 1272's not the reproductions, that I have had for a while. Had only one problem with them after I owned them for about a year, so I called Brent. We figured out what the problem was and he sent the part that needed to be replaced, I popped it in and then returned the old part, without having to return the whole unit it to him at all. He stands behind his products and takes IMHO great care of his customers. I never have a problem recomending his stuff to anyone!

Love my BAE 312A. I have also had the pleasure of using Brent's 1272 - it sounds awesome.

Can't say much for the 1073, but I bought a Neve 33114 from Brent a few years ago. I was a little hesitant because it was my first "real" gear purchase, but they gave me a money back guarantee and made the transaction really easy.

Needless to say the unit kicks ass, has operated flawlessly (I wish I could say the same abot other gear purchases!) and I ended up buying another because they do great work and are great guys to work with.

Highly recommended.

I agree with all!!!!

I have had 1272's, 312s, and 1061's that he racked.

All were a fantastic job and the support on these was always first rate.

Avedis is also a fantastic guy that never rushes to get off the phone and is always willing to be honest.
One time I called to order some of the Audix and he flat out told me not to.

Honest, fair, quality.

You will never regret this purchase.
I only regret not being able to buy more!!!

I've got a pair of Neve 3104s, racked by Brent that I bought second hand. One of them had a cosmetic problem, so I called. Brent sent me out a new front panel...no charge.

Based on that alone, I'd buy his stuff again (and probably will). The fact that so many other people have had positive experiences just reinforces that.

I have a pair of BA 1272's and they have been rock solid since day one. Which was probably 6 years ago. Still my best pre's. They are also the original ones.

I've got a couple of the Averill 1073 repros and they are solid sounding and worth every penny. Good people that stand behind their work. What more do you want?

I've bought 312's and 1272's from him and both have performed wonderfully. One channel of the 1272 pair got funky and it was taken care of pronto.

I am 100% satisfied with both their products and their service.

Enjoy the 1073!

But how do they compare to the Neve Portico? (Just kidding, just kidding!!)

I have the original 1272s and the word that comes to mind is "brawny"

I just got done with a tracking session (drums) where I was using the BAE 312's and E15 EQ's along with a bunch of API stuff and the BAE sounded BIG and bold!
