SPX90 output level?

Do I need to run the outs through preamp before going to converters(Lynx or Mytek)? Don't seem to be getting much level going direct.

Preamp shouldn't be needed.

Check the input and output level switches - if the output is -20 db, try the +4 setting, and you should have tons of drive. If the input is set to +4, and you're running it with a -10 db input, you also might find the levels low.

Also make sure that your running a true unbalanced input and output. If I remember correctly when I hooked up a TRS cable the output was much lower than when it was just a Tip Sleeve connector. I just made up a bunch of balanced to unbalanced connectors and it worked much better.

Its been years since I hooked mine up so I could also be totally nuts.

Thanks
The output is on the +4 and still very little output. ..and there's plenty of signal on the input meter. Tried it through my ISA 428 and got lots of gain.......but like you say it doesn't seem like I should have to.
