Using external A/D D/A with a Digi 001

I've got an RME ADI-2 on it's way to me right now, and I'm wondering about connecting it to my 001. I plan on using the optical outs to go into my ADAT inputs on the 001, but I'm wondering if I need to clock the 001 off the ADI-2. There is no word clock i/o on either unit, but I know it is possible to clock the 001 off of SPDIF. Does anybody know how this works? Can I just run a Coax cable from my ADI-2 to my 001's SPDIF, or does the SPDIF signal need to be a clock signal? Thanks.

You should be able to clock through through the ADAT cable. If you go to setups/hardware setups the clock can be set to internal, s/pdf, and optical (ADAT).
