The sound of The Streets' "Everything is borrowed"

So, who bought The Streets' new cd "Everything is borrowed"?

I just did. I love this Mike Skinner guy, he's something special.

I'd love to hear comments on the recording and mixing and mastering. It sounds rather live-in-studio. This is surprising material (though rms is still somewhat up there it doesnt sound smashed smashed). Lots and lots og midtone, not a lot of bass and sparkling highs. It truly seems like a statement of some kind?

Comments? ( Do you US folks actually know about this guy?) The Streets on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Videos

Hey there! Great clip, - and the pink suit is nice

And the instrumentation is like on his new cd. No samplers. They just might have done it live in the studio, too.

Loved the first three records, absolute gems, and such brilliant British wit to boot. Haven't checked out the latest ones though. Any good?

Yeah its great, but rather different from the rest. Virtually no electronics. The lyrics are moving from the gutter to nature Its a very green album.
