Making a Loop.

Making a Loop.

I would like to make a loop of my own. What I would like to do is just make a simple beat with my own voice into a microphone, through a mixer into logic pro. I would like to not have to "beat box" the beat the entire duration of the song, but instead just sing it once or twice and have it continue on it's own so it is consistant. Is there a way to do this? What would be the best way to go about this?

Just record it, cut it, and paste it throughout the song... if I'm hearing you correctly.

You heard right.

I was just having some difficulty with the timing of it and was making sure that I was going about it in the simplest way.
Thanks.

I don't know much about logic, but I know it shouldn't be too bad. I use cubase and if you get it in time good enough I just put on the snap function so that way it cuts exactly at the right times and I just make a good section of the beat and repeat it. There are other ways to do loops but this is perfect (if your loop is in time that is... if you are out of time, that's more problems)

then cut the parts up and move the audio regions so that each 'hit' sound you make is aligned correctly to the tempo grid.. (turn on the metronome and set your tempo to what you want it at).

I'd say re-record... it's no fun to cut up a sample and manually fix it...
