I only time I've really found overeasy mode useful was on vocals (usually BG subs) and once or twice on the 2 mix when that's all I had available. You loose the punch that that whole dbx line is known for. This is the main reason I went with 160X's instead of a rackfull of 903's.
How many of you use the overeasy button on 160a's?
Just curious.
I just purchased a new DBX 160a and compared it to my older 160x. What a difference. The 160x sounded so much better. It didnt lose the high end when compressing like the 160a did.
