Where does this sound come from?

Hi mates

abit off topic, but I'm really interested to find out where does this famous brass sound come from. I thought it is Yamaha DX7, but it isn't.

Here it is - 'Livin in a box' song snippet:
brass

Maybe soneone knows synth origin of another sound here, rich pad in background. Is it Oberheim OBXA?

Thanks in advance

Dagg

sounds more like a roland to me, maybe a JV80 brass mixed with a jupiter 8 type string pad under it.

Yeah, Roland JX8P or Oberheim Xpander or similar. Lots of Highs and Reverb, a lil Chorus and your done. The Imposcar from G Media does nice pads like this.

Yamaha DX7 is an FM synth....Very harsh, bell, buzz sounds, not a sample based synth, it uses OSC and then...go read a synthesis book.

hey thrill what artist is that??? and was it mixed at unique???
