Plasma / Lcd HDTV's

Is anyone here using a plasma or LCD TV as their DAW video monitor? If so, how do you like it?

I was thinking of getting a 42" Plasma with 1024 x 768 resolution to integrate my home studio and home entertainment setup.

Any advise is appreciated.

Thanks,
Jon

I've run across a couple of plasma screens with inexcusably loud fans in them. This would be distracting during a movie, but disastrous during mixing. Something to check.

I have one of these Barco XVGA projectors, and I prefer it to a plasma, but to each his own.

My new plasma - panasonic EDTV - not HD - was super cheap from http://www.monitoroutlet.com/ no fans in these newer monitors - so super quiet - darker blacks - can't beat the price. How intense is your work. Sometimes you have to adjust to a 4 frame latency.
