jaguar (os10.2)
botherin' anyone else that jobs is makin' us 10.xxx buyers pony up another $129/usd (in other words, full price, again!) for 10.2/jaguar, for the inclusion of an extreme oversight in their previous version; AUDIO & MIDI?!?!?! i mean, showier surfing & ms office aside, wasn't the whole point, for us muso's at least, audio & midi (& video!) in a multi-tasking emvironment (finally, catching up to windoze in this regard!). for such an integral part of any os, i kinda feel like i bought a jag (no pun), say v.10.xx, without a steering wheel, and am now being asked to buy a brand new one (say v.10.2), for one with! is it just me, or is anyone else kinda feeling like a guinea pig right about now? sure, maybe this and/or that might be benefitting from a faster engine, but when you get right down to it, a pc's a little faster at doing one thing, & a mac's a bit faster at doin' another; but ain't THE reason we professionals girdling the globe traditionally pay much heftier prices for an apple/mac, software/hardware setup is for it's very stability and reliability in our chosen field? of which the omission (audio & midi) essentially rendered 10.0/10.1x useless? don't we, who at various times in its shaky past, kept apple afloat, deserve at least an upgrade fee (say $20-30 bucks, at most) for paying them to beta test osx? hello!
