Speaker Age

How old can a speaker be before its sound is adversely affected by age? I'm looking into some 10-year-old, 3-way passive monitors, and I'm a little concerned that they might not sound "fresh."

My neighbor who is a sound nut like me still uses speakers that are way over 10 years old. I still use speakers that are over 10 years old and they still sound fine compared to the ones I bought just 2 months ago. I am talking about guitar amp speakers by the way, but I have worked with studio monitors over 10 years old and they sounded fine if not too good for me.
