Ipod into XLR input of mixer: HOW?

How can I connect an iPod into an XLR channel of my mixer?

Is there some kind of tool for this?

Yes.

You need a STEREO 1/8th inch adaptor to TWO mono XLR's.

Any local SR company can build you one and MANY companies (hosa) etc have pre made ones as well for very cheap.

Some even come with a handy little volume knob built in.

It's called a DI. You'll need two of them.

If you want a dedicated device, you can use a two channel unit like this: Radial ProAV1 and ProAV2 audio-video direct boxes

You can get a little adaptor (or buy a iPod dock) so you don't have to use the headphone out. The levels will match a bit better and it will probably sound a bit better.

Because you need two channels running from a stereo source.
