Ah..........almost, methinks.

Been away for a few days.

Before I left I tracked this just for fun. Perhaps a bit too much fun.........just did a quick remix in response to some excellent observations from Pezz.
listening now! much tighter, vocal comes through more too, its right there. production is so crisp on it compared to my stuff, great work unclenny

Old Goat, I'm about to crack a bottle of Stella5% i found hidden at the back of my co-op, ... heres to you and yours, all the best

I know that my give/receive ratio is a bit off (I think that's how to describe it), so I've got a giveaway. I have an ART TubeMP Studio Preamp here. It hasn't been used much since I was given a small mixer by my brother shortly after buying this. It still works great, though.

To get this preamp, here's the deal: Trivia Time!

The Spice Girls, U2, and The Rolling Stones all have this in common...

Also, in the subject of your post, write a number between 50 and 100 (helping you narrow it down). The person with the correct answer and closest number wins!

I'll pick a winner on May 21st 2012 at 10:00PM Central time.
Good Luck!!!

Hey Everybody,

Just got back from watching the eclipse here. Didn't get the "Ring of Fire" here in Colorado, but we still saw a good 94% coverage.

If anyone's interested, I'm playing a bit of a game with a song I'm working on over at the Songwriting forum. If you're interested in participating, here's the link (Who wants a cookie?)

Hope everyone's had a great Sunday!

It was very nice. Loud as hell, Mom would have loved it. Only down thing was that my new-dad nephew didn't bring any cigars. I told him that not only was he a disgrace to his gender, but he was perilously close to being a black mark on the species. Biggest laugh of the night. And I don't stink of cigar (though I do like 'em)

Mary Ann was well escorted out. Now comes the donkey work...

Little belated on my end (especially seeing as I am in Central time) but I'll be raising a scotch in a moment here. Forgot to run the cigar shop today, have to tomorrow then for a buddy's birthday. Good luck with the donkey work, goat.

Mr Goat Sir many many thanks the pristine looking Phantom III arrived today completely unharmed by its lengthy voyage. Thanks aswell to Rosie for going out of your way to post it

I am such an amateur - I hadnt considered until it arrived that the plug would be american. Over here we got 240v and this one is 120v so not even sure that a standard US to UK adapter would work... any tips on which plug i need would be great-I'm gonna start my own research now, aswell as buying an xlr - xlr as my current leads are all to jack! As I say, I'm such an amateur when it comes to doing my own recordings. OK, so my new 'behind doors' instrumental will wait another day for those vocals but theyre coming, I can feel it in my disco stick. ... only a couple of leads to go and i'm there. If i can buy them locally i'll go tomorrow and record tomorrow night!! Thanks again to all contributers to this cause-I hope I can eventually do you proud! Peace

What about the
a. Shure SM57 (again, sticking with no suffix.
b. The 545 and the 545S? The second one having a built-in mount, and the first being just the "wand?"

Dear Vixen, you're an angel for us newbies !!!! Thanks !!!

Other way, Pezz, look out if the power supply is switchable from 120 to 240 (I do not know the model of your unit), and then if you can swap the power cord for a british one…

Good call, vixen! Going to and from Thailand has ensured my knowledge of the dangers of mismatched voltage. It's less of a deal if you take a 240 and plug it into a 120. Other way around and you better be insured.

Oh, that's great! I should've thought of the power differences. Yer a doll, kat!

The trip to the lawyer went well--so well he didn't charge us anything (but we waited 45 minutes to see him.) Mom's trust was set up just right. No taxes, no probate, no BS--first good thing we've been told in a week! We've been hearing a lot of, "Oh, you have a lot of work ahead of you".

Yup, It's like eatin' an elephant. One bite at a time, don't start at the tail.

Back to work tomorrow. That sucks. But I gotta...

phew thanks for the advice... was just lookin at my laptop plug and its 19v rather than the required 18v and its DC rather than the required AC...

I'll wait until i get the correct device... I've just applied for a job in Telford Vixen. If I get an interview and havent got a stepdown converter by then I'll drop by thanks very much! I'm going to look for one tomorrow in town if I can.

Ok, last try. if this isn't right then I quit, and there is no right answer lol

1. Shure SM57-LC

2. Shure Model 545 Unidyne III & Shure Model 545s Unidyne III

The difference between the two is that the 545s came mounted on a lifetime swivel w/ an on/off switch.....hence the "s"
