New Stillwell comp released -- The Rocket...

Check this out.

This is one the best software comps I've ever heard. On par with Waves and even (dare I say it) UA.

Enjoy,

Dang! They have kick-ass graphics!!!

I'm a huge fan of their Event Horizon plugin. I'll check this out

That they do... But the sound of this one far exceeds the graphics. If like the UAD-1176 or Distressor type sound this one is for you.

Cool.

I'd love to compare it to Massey - its at the same "value minded" price point..

If this one has the "character" that's reported, it won't be anything like the Massey, except in the value category. The Massey comp is very transparent.

Man! I just downloaded the Rocket and slapped it on a drum buss with the Sex, Drugs and Rock'n'Roll preset

It drips, oozes and slobbers character

Try reducing the threshold, it may not be low enough.

I did try that but it never moves. Strange.

I'll do ya one better. It's just a gain plugin for me. The GR needle doesn't move, and when you set unity gain on any preset, there's no change in sound. No compression, just level change from the gain slider.

Oops...found a bug and killed it. Download again. This only affected Mac builds...sorry.

(for the technically inclined, abs() is not the same thing as fabs() )

doh.

Sounds cool, but how long does it last. I downloaded it to see how it sounds and it's pretty cool. I only had about 15min's wit it then I had to do something else. I'm a come back to this one when I get the chance. I tried to find out how long I got before this plugin stops but, I don't see any info about that anywhere.

Thanx for the heads up,

Marc

Our plugins DO NOT EXPIRE. They DO NOT BEEP OR HISS. They do not GO SILENT.

Maybe we're stupid, but we think it's more money and trouble than it's worth to go all iLok on yer ass (since, face it, they're gonna get cracked anyway...been there, done that), so we decide to trust you guys to do the right thing instead.

The only difference between the licensed and unlicensed version is that the unlicensed version displays about an 8-second nag screen the first time you access it in a project. Boom, that's it. Same code in both versions, same 64-bit internal processing. If you buy the plugins, you get a ".key" file that you drop in the same directory as the plugin. Done. That didn't hurt, did it?

Hope that helps...

Are we going to see an RTAS version soon?

Not likely, since it requires a bunch of contractual stuff with Digidesign / Avid to get access to their SDK. They should run just fine in the latest version of the VST to RTAS wrapper from FXpansion, on either PC or Mac.

1. Coolest. Gui. Ever.
2. Sounds fantastic.
3. Love was impetus and decadence do.
4. Parallel Compression knob... every comp plug should have this.

When Ike is done, I'll be getting back in front of my monitors to check it out further, but this will probably be my next pluggy.

Very excellent work, sir!

When I try out the various presets, none of them change the attack and release, they just stay all the way to the left all the time. Anyone else getting this?

I am on Nuendo 3 on a PC using XP Pro.

Thanks

Great plug-in comp , right up there with the competition and better if not equal to the best out there from what i can tell demoing briefly ...

Lots of great presets too , nice job to offer so much ......

I tried it on drums, vocs , bass and master bus and in all cases it was easy to dial in a sound and start being happy with your choices .

Eq's(1973 and Vibe-Eq) are nice as well and great companions to the Rocket......... kudos to Stillwell . And at this price it's a steal ....

Anyone using this with Logic 8? If so, is the gain reduction meter working for you?

Did you re-download the plugin like I posted last night? I uploaded a bug fix and I already have confirmation from a Logic user that this fixed the problem.
