purple audio mc-76 owners

quick check here - anyone own one of the purple mc-96 "1176" style limiters?

I know the are supposed to sound very very close to an 1176 yet more "hi-fi" or "cleaner".

I have an offer to buy a "demo" unit with the upgraded VU meter for $950.

just scoping things out...

It's seriously worth it, and you're getting a hell of a deal!!! IMHO, they murder the UA "reissue" unit... let's leave it at if you don't want it, email who's selling it and I'll buy it!! (the price is below dealer cost!!).

I agree with Fletcher - if he doesn't buy it, I would.

I'm waiting on a reply from the seller - I need a few business days to pass before I have funds to buy the unit, so in the event he can't wait - I will gladly pass his info onto both of you gentlemen.

The this is that I'm a mostly daw mixer, although I do like to take outputs to a console and mix in other rooms when availavle. Basically I need something alittle more "hi-fi" than my drawmers or RNCs for tracking purposes. Although I was going to go for the flexible distressor, for tracking various things I've always liked the 1176 type sound..

sucks that the answer to all of these questions is usually that you need one of each - ****, I really want a trakker though too.

I'm third in line! Your seller got three more to sell?

I'm buying a demo UA 1176 at the moment.

Three or four more 1176s / MC76s to go and then I *should* be nearly happy...

There are a couple of PURPLE mc76 on proaudiomarketplace.com for only $900. I don't know about the vu or the upgrades, etc. It might be gone and you gotta pay to access the list.
