Anyone using the ISA 220 with the A/D in, together..

..With a Benchmark dac-1, Lavry Blue D/A out?

Are you satisfied with that set up, or are you thinking about buying a seperate A/D as well?

Reason I´m asking is that next week I´m gonna buy either a Dac-1, or a Lavry blue D/A, and is interested in comments from users of the Isa 220 with the A/D card, and these specific brands of D/A!

I like the eq on the ISA, and want to be able to use this on tracks, hence i need a top quality D/A out to the ISA, and then back in again (I´m using Pro Tools/Digi 002R)
(Also thinking about getting the Waves Q clone for this purpose..?)

Can the A/D card in the ISA handle that without loosing to much?
If I buy the lavry D/A, I will get the A/D card as well, but not until summer comes...

Or would a Rosetta 200 just cover it all for me?

A studio where I work has these, but we don't use the A/D at all .. we did some quick/informal tests early on, and they didn't really seem to add much to the 888/24's on our Mix systems .. now we've gone 192/HD, they would definitely be off the shopping list. I've never had the pleasure of using the convertors you talk about, but I would imagine that they'd all be a big jump over the convertors in the 220.

FWIW, if you're only using the 220 for the EQ, I'd dump it and get a 115 or 215 where you at least have two channels.

Thanx Bing81!

Well, I might go for an API or a chandler solution for stereo eq, but it´s always nice to have different eq´s, pre amps etc.etc...

Hmmm.... I might go for the lavry D/A anyway.

Well, Im gonna try it out, and se how it sounds first:-)
