He used "Magnum" pre amp?

If he's guilty, there will be a lot of problems with early reflections in his cell!!!

Sorry, but couldn't resist!

He will have early reflections and large (and probably some small) male reproductive organs hanging in his cell as well.

I was previously giving Spector the benefit of the doubt, but I'm not so sure now. He is looking pretty guilty.

No worries boys, once it gets to an LA jury anything can happen.

50/50 is my bet as this is the town of OJ and Robert Blake. Jury nullifacation is standard around here. We still haven't heard from those top tier attorneys yet as they are probably way more capable than any LA district attorney. (Remember Marcia Clark?)

I ought to know as my father was LA district attorney back in the early 60's. He said the current crop there are a bunch of dumb s**ts.

The death penalty lowers the conviction rate. Juries are scared to take that responsibility. It's like the effect where to get people to do firing squad they make sure there are a few blanks among the bullets, that way people can always figure, 'maybe I didn't kill him'. Besides, it's the quick way out... living in jail for the rest of your life - those decisions and ghosts would haunt you every day. If he's guilty, I hope he will live a long life...alone behind bars.

I think this is a little different because people don't really know Spector like they do actors or Simpson. We know him because we are into music and production but not so much the average person I think. Plus he was such a recluse and oddball at that. The victim in this case is probably better known then the accused. Not that she was all that well known, but..

I think Phil is going down.

I agree , Phil has limited exposure beyond musicians and industry folk. The Hairdo's are probably not going to do him any favours with the jury heh

That being said some people seem to get away with the craziest $hit in that state.

Contrair... LA juries can become enamored with anything. I expect the defense to play up his eccentric behavior as standard from a "great artist". "It would do society no good to kill or imprison this extraordinary musical talent that has brought us so much meaning and joy into our personal lives"....

This will be, of course said while the Beatle's Let It Be is played in the background.
I can hear it now.

Get ready for jury nullifacation...

Hi

The coroner said that it was unlikely to have been a suicide because of the bruising on the tongue and inside the mouth. This was more in line with a gun muzzle being forced into her mouth.

Odd that it was fired downwards, severing her spinal cord, etc., as you'd think that suicides would aim up to go through the brain and be more sure of a quick conclusion.

All in all, it doesn't look good for Phil...

1. All of the women bringing in his prior bad acts.
2. His general demeanor and weird behavior.
3. His limo drivers testimony hurt him pretty bad.
4. His lawyer royally making an ass out of himself to the jury.

I think Phil is going down.

Maybe if all the engineer/producers in LA threaten a riot then he could be spared?

I think this is another example of the rich wide stereo trying to keep the poor mono down.

"It had to stop," Spector said of his behavior in a 1977 Los Angeles Times interview. "Being the rich millionaire in the mansion and then dressing up as Batman. I have to admit I did enjoy it to a certain extent. But I began to realize it was very unhealthy."

hahahaha p0p. best **** ever

Well,

I haven't been following the trial, but I just want to add a couple of things:

1) I can't believe his lawyer didn't FORCE him to tone down his image; i.e. get a conservative haircut (something approaching normal hair color) and a conservative suit.

2) I saw Brian Williams peform a couple of years back, and he said he thought that Phil Spector was the greatest songwriter who ever lived and that "Be My Baby" was the greatest song.

3) Some people say he messed up "Let it Be", I don't agree. I still think it's a great record. There have always been two people I would have loved to see him produce. Elvis and Dylan. It's obviously too late for him to do Elvis and Dylan.....well, I guess it won't happen behind bars. Probably wouldn't have happened in any event; Dylan is probably a wee bit too sane to work with Spector.

Just some thoughts.............

All the prosecutor has to do is introduce the Beatles' "Let It Be" album into evidence as proof that Spector has murdered in the past, thus the instant case fits into a pattern.

Things are looking very grim for Phil.

Spector rant: 'All women should be shot in the head'

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- The judge in Phil Spector's murder trial will let jurors hear from a celebrity security guard who says he heard the record producer rant against women and declare they should all be shot in the head.

Quote:
He testified that on the first occasion, Dorothy Melvin, Rivers' manager, called him at his post outside the party. "She said, 'Vinnie, get up here. Phil Spector just pulled out a gun,"' Tannazzo testified.

Tannazzo said he removed his gun, went upstairs and escorted Spector and Melvin into an elevator where he gave Spector a "light pat down" and could feel a gun in his waistband.

When Spector made a move for his waist on the way out of the party, Tannazzo said, "I didn't know what he was going to do. I told Phil Spector if he pulls out that gun I'll blow his (expletive) brains out."

He said Spector became conciliatory at that point, produced a gun permit and then made a comment about women deserving to be shot in the head.

Melvin, who was dating Spector then, testified earlier in the trial about being held by Spector at gunpoint when she tried to leave his home.

Tannazzo said he was surprised to find Spector's name on the guest list again for a Christmas party at Rivers' apartment a year later. He said the previous incident was repeated again, with Melvin calling him to escort the profanity-spewing Spector outside.

This time, he said, another woman walked out while Spector was leaving and "Phil Spector looked at her and said, 'That (expletive). I ought to put a bullet in her head right now."'

"Phil Spector said that?" prosecutor Pat Dixon said in mock astonishment.

If they don't send him away for murder,
he should go away for just being plain ugly (in & out)

he gives humanity a bad name

This guy better never get arrested. Don't make flip remarks or they could be used against you.

Something definitely is messed up in Spector's head. It's very sad, as he is a true legend who worked on some of the greatest music of the 20th century.

2 things strike me about this. One, it doesn't seem to be of much interest to people. Paris Hilton going to jail seemed like a bigger deal. Two, that it's funny. To me, this isn't even close to being funny ( I don't care how crazy Spector wears his hair). It's sad in every way.
