tube mic pre

yo what's up?

im looking for opinion on tube mic pre's/ or transformer based pre's.

there are so many out there that it gets confusing.

the mic pre sound im out for is " not / not that transparent",full, lush.

i'll be using the pre for many things from vocal, keyboard etc.
rave on.

I'm just coming home from mixing a project where the lead vocals were recorded with a Pendulum Quartet. It's an all tube channel strip (Pre/EQ/Comp/Deesser).
It sounded very lush

You can drive the input from the Pendulum from very clean to distorted - so you get everything you'd like. I only recorded a few vocals and some bass guitars, but I know that I'll love this box.

Pendulum MDP-1 (or Quartet), Millennia Media M2b (or Origin), Groove Tubes Vipre, DW Fearn are all wondeful.
