Internal HD vs/ Exteral Firewire HD?

Are there any differences/advantages on getting an external HD as opposed to saving all your audio files on an internal HD?

I'm thinking of getting a 60 GB ATA/133 8MB cache HD to put inside of my G4 400 Sawtooth...

JoHoozaFats,

I can't see a problem with internal storage ... however I find the
external firewire idea is very flexible for the following reasons:

- cheap
- fast
- simple method of transferring between studios
- practical for off-site backup's.
- easy to add additional drives (F/Wire daisy chain)
- some have external power supplies therefore reducing possible Thermal problem.
