Best Shure Mics (one time offer for a discount)

I have a chance to get a couple Shure mics from a friend who has worked for the firm for decades. Would like advice on what I should look for in this "one time offer"... obviously, getting some SM57s wouldn't be the best use of the discount!

Thanks!

What kinds of music do you work with?

I'd first look at:
KSM44 and/or KSM32
KSM141 (pair)
KSM9

Why not SM57? Depends on the discount I guess also. I wouldn't mind getting a crate of 20 SM57s. They'll never go out of style and they'll outlast most other mics. You can use them on everything! Anyways, enough SM57.

Check out the 55SH Series II mic. Looks amazing on a straight stand and gets vocalist in the mood. The other mics that people suggested would better take advantage of a discount as they are more expensive.

I'm kind of assuming you already own an SM 57 so.........

KSM 141 are great utility condensers. Specifically I think they kill as snare mics.

Never tried a KSM 44 but I've always really wanted to, so let me live vicariously through you. Get a pair of KSM 44's!!!

i'd get 2 SM7's, 2 KSM44's and a 57. or 1 SM7, a 57, and 2 KSM44's.

you could literally record everything with those.

KSM44 since it's one of their priciest microphones. Next I would go SM81 if you need a a pair of all around work horse SDC.

81's are pretty cool. The 44 is okay too. I've never been a big fan of shure stuff though. Of course I dig SM7 and 57 but other than that, they've never done it for me.
