LXP 5 issue...help, pls!

Is there something that can be done (perhaps on accident) to make the LXP 5 quit passing audio through itself? That is to say, is there something that would make it appear as though it is working...powering up, responding to knob and button manipulations, yet nothing audible comes out the output?

I bought it used, untested and ridiculously cheap. The seller had never used it. Regardless, I let a tech friend look at it and forgot about it for many months. When I remembered it and called him, he said he remembered looking at it when I first gave it to him and he *seemed* to remember it being fine????? I picked it up from his house (he was/is out of town)

I have tried to call him back about it, but have not heard back yet.

Any ideas? Is there a way to reset it? I have a manual, but it is scanned and unsearchable. I am trying to plw through it. I will go hunting for a real, PDF manual as well.

Thanks!
