Saffire Pro owners..

Do you guys just use the PSU?.. Or can you use a power conditioner somehow with them?

Thanks!

I only use the PSU when tracking. If i am at home and just listening music or mixing i don't use the PSU.

BTW it take a lot longer to start the Saffire Pro up when not connected to the PSU.

I'm not sure how you would be able to use a power conditioner with them, the power input looks pretty proprietary. I'd imagine you'd still have to have it (the psu) in the electrical chain.

It's really only necessary to use the PSU for tracking (increases available headroom on the pres by a fair margin). All other applications it can run off FW power.
