The 3 Beyers (2 "sleepers", all keepers!)

Just got a Beyer Soundstar X1N (tuchel-not XLR) and had to wait
until the proper microphone cable was made by Sennheiser.
This is Beyer's version of a Sennheiser 421 BTW.
I was very impressed with its tone quality for vocals, it really sounds
phat and cuts through a mix.

Another "sleeper" from Beyer IMHO is the Soundstar MKII.
It's the smoothest dynamic I've ever sung through.

My favorite dynamic generally, however, is still the Beyer M88TG.
My voice has a lot of "top end", so this microphone seems
to complement it well.

Has anyone else here used either of the Soundstar's?
Curious as to your thoughts...

Thanks
Chris

I don't know the Sountstar line, but I love the M88. I also use and like the M380, TGX50, M260 and especially the MC834.

Hey, I have TGX-50, too. Havent met anyone else with one. Do you like it much? I use it as a kick mic, mainly. I also have a Soundstar MkII but havent had much chance to use it, really. Gonna use it soon though.

I think the MC834 is a highly underated little mic. We've got 3 of em and I love them for Alto sax, upper Leslie cabinets and used to use them for piano extensively before we had many other choices.

It's really strange how Beyer dropped the Soundstar series,
and the M500 ribbon microphone.
It seems that other manufacturers like Peavey with the VMP2 mic pre,
and Audio-Technica with the AT4033 microphone, would keep making
quality products that are well regarded. Must be the bean counters...

I've used it on guitar and bass and bass drum. It made a guitar overdub just come alive recently.
