I think the TTE is very reasonably priced

With the exception of a frozen tape cart, my TTE has performed flawlessly for years. I always have it in my guitar signal path no matter what amp.
A vey well designed machine that sounds awesome. A Studio TTE would be great!!!!

New STUDIO version Fulltone Tube tape Echo

I would like to see a control voltage input that could accept +/-5 volts to modulate the motor speed. A built-in oscillator would be interesting, but it would also be great to use complex modulation sources from an analogue modular synth that may be modulating the synths effects as well.

I really like the other ideas as well. Thais is already an amazing unit as is. I am confident that the studio version will be stupendous!

I wouldn't hold my breath. This thread was started back in '07 and my guess is it's vaporware at this point.

Cheers,

I'm excited to play this new full tone in the near future.

I have a newer TTE and freaking love it. I also have a Roland RE150 in excellent shape which is a different flavor of tape (and a bit more obvious as a tape effect). But the TTE gets used more often on guitar and as a studio tool. Fulltone makes great gear. I'm happy this finally came out after the near decade wait. Really interested to hear the color the preamp adds. TTE is fairly clean but oozes organic echo. Can't be beat by my bucket brigade Pedals. Good to see tape based delays resurfacing. TREX is also putting one out in the near future.

That's awesome, i've been waiting for one of these for what seems like forever.. Now someone needs to make a 'real' Binson Echorec type delay! The Catalinbread pedal fell just a bit short, IMHO..

Can't wait to hear the solid state version, hope it distorts like the old ones.

I love the TTE for voice, for guitar it lacks mojo compared to any tube echoplex
i have used or owned.

Fulltone stuff is priced fair when you look at how well built their products are.

I'm so sick of my Roland stuff, chorus and echo was good, but I'm not fixing it again. I need something new and clean.

Fulltone has a few things that I want, but they gotta get that tape echo up to studio levels. You just can't get a good tape echo anywhere!

They also remade that great Tri-chorus, you can't get that anywhere else either. Tri chorus was like the holy grail of chorus. I wanna get one of those and slap it on one of the new Rhodes E Pianos.

I do Roland chorus and echo, but Fulltone has what I need. What can I say, so much gear, so little time.

Yah those look tempting, but as I look at all of these again, they just don't seem up-to-par for studio fx. People probably just assume that good engineers will make their own delay from a reel tape machine.

I'm thinkin about just sending all my digital delays to get re-amped through a tube hi-fi and speaker box. That'll give it some character.

Fulltone's Tri-chorus should be something special, however.

Fulltone TTE versions

Hey gang,

Not sure what happened to this project?

I'm interested to give the Echolette and Binson a companion and was wondering what differences exist between TTE versions?
I see black units (later models, apparently) and cream-colored ones // anybody could enlighten me on this?

Thanks!

Besides the following changes, I'm all ears for any suggestions:

1) revamp tape cartridge so it's mechanically quiet, using a system similar to the old ROLAND and KORG tape echos where the tape just bunches up in a cartridge meaning you can use whatever tape you want, and make your own loops...no more buying carts for $29

2) modify IN's and OUT's to work with BOTH 1/4" TRS Line Level and Instrument Level.

3) offer switchable Polarity on outputs.
Was this ever released?
