RME or MOTU? (easy and urgent)

easy one for you:

I'll need another 8 in/out for a session later this week. My setup today is a Rosetta 200 and a Rosetta 800 with an EMU 1212 soundcard so I need a new soundcard as well.

RME Hammerfall + ADI8 DS or
MOTU 2408 mkIII?

PC / WIN XP.

Thank you!

RME by a long shot and I have a MOTU828MKII (Second one actually, first one was hosed) if that tells you anything.
MOTU= Crappy Drivers, Crappy tech support

Here for the gear

RME

RME! RME! RME! I've owned both. Sonically and flexibility can't be beat in RME.

I love my RME FF800. Rock solid drivers. Very reliable.

Also look into the factory warranty. At one point RME was much longer than MOTU

i just switched from 2408mk3 to hammerfall and couldn't be happier. ease-of-use alone is worth the price of entry for me.

Generally, I like MotU stuff.

But, they don't play nice with other hardware unless they are the center of the universe.

Go with the Hammerfall and ADAT lightpipe stuff.

Definitely don't agree with that, but RME stuff seems to work great. Motu stuff........lets just say I've had as many Motu pieces break as I've owned.

RME, definitely.

I own the Fireface 400 (Home) and 800 (Studio/Remote) and love both systems. No issues, rock solid.

Also have the Hammerfall PCI card on another computer running Gigastudio and VSTi = excellent.
