When using your TD on drums, where are you inserting it?

On mixdown it goes between the recorder's output and the consoles tape mon. input..
It really depends..

I've done it both ways. Typically I do pre compression and EQ. However I did a whole record recently where I put the TD after the compressor. It's really one of those things where you have to experiment and figure out what sounds best to you. It's an aesthetic thing.

Most of the time I'll use the comp before the td ( if I use a comp at all...).

I'll often put an nice eq after the td to de-edge the sound, some things tend to sound a little cold after being transient designed...

I track with the td all the time when I'm the one mixing the project.
It can be very useful on toms and rooms mics ( you can really destroy the room mics with this thing).
