FMR RNP: Alterntive AC Adapter

I need a UK AC adapter for an FMR Really Nice Preamp (bought from the USA since they're impossible to find in the UK), can I just pick up a generic one from Maplins and it'll work fine? I'm probably worrying too much but I don't want to break the RNP!

it shouldn't be a problem to use it with a generic one, actually,i used it once with a 15v 0.5A and it did work without problem(not recommended tho, just to be sure).
the rnp uses a 12V 1.25A adapter, and the polarity is (-) on the outside and (+) on the inside(the female part of the plug).
regards,

d.
