Half rack great rivers preamps

I was too cheap to spend $60.00 on a rack tray to mount them, so I made my own.

All made from Aluminum.

That looks great!

However a rack tray is closer to $20 than $60 (USD). And you made it a 2U which to some (like myself) that use of rack real estate is not available.

Cheers,
David

Thanks david, next time I will consult the slutz staff before embarking on any more building ventures. heh

I like to make custom stuff for my rack, spices it up. I am not concerned about rack space, i will just build another.

No, not the custom job Great River makes you buy. They dont have standard holes on the bottom. THey have special rack ears for single units and a special joiner 1u rack for two. The rack ears cost me about $60 for just two bent slabs of metal. That's a big minus against Great River for not having standard rack holes. tutt

The reflections on the aluminum in that picture make it look like some kind of clear acrylic, which would be pretty sweet too.

Ah. Well there you go.

However, I just picked up another utility rack for $15 and at that price I would drill different holes for the GRs.

Unless they have no holes on the bottom at all....then I would glue nice hard foam to the inside walls and middle of the rack and wedge those GR puckers in there.

Regards,
David
