I rarely chime in for stuff like this but I just bought a set of adam a7s after over a year of contemplation and I am very satisfied witht the purchase. I am sure there are other great monitors available at the same price point but my research kept leading me back to these.

the krk vxt4?

my experience with krk's is they sound almost inverse sometimes if u go down to v4 and v6

is that the case or are they good enuff for mixing?

peace

ps i know that monitoring is a personal preference - but im tryin to find out some decent options - if i need to the budget could go up a lil

bit im q interested in these vxt 4 if ur sayin they are good!

ahhh Adams

yes i love the p11a's a friend of mine has some although i find the bass end a lil misleading and they are so very clinical

so how are the a7's in comparision?

A7's are great, they're my main nearfields. Excellent translation. I find with those and some avantone mixcubes I'm good to go.

I'm still not sure what you are after, by small do you mean smaller than an average nearfield such as the a7's?

If A7's are small enough for you then I would definitely recommend them above any other monitor.

A friend had these set up in his composing room and I was impressed by what they were giving out compared to their size:

Hey there,
Regardless of the Mackie mixer rep, I highly reccomend the HR624's. They are quite flat, and have an extended low-end. I have had a pair for six years and I am still impressed by their accuracy (great headroom for most monitoring situations as well).
