how to incorporate sub?

I have NS-10Ms fed from a Coleman monitor manager--only has stereo outs--to the amp with L/R outs feeding the speakers. I'd like to have the option of adding a sub to check the low end of my mixes. Any good suggestions as to how to do this? I don't think I can simultaneously monitor two sets of speakers with the Coleman.

Thanks in advance.

Uhh. . . maybe I'm missing something here. . . . perhaps I feed the sub first and from there route to the mains. . . ? Need to check some lit on subs. Any perspective, though, would be great!

Depends on if your sub is powered or not and what sort of i/o. I'd buy a powered sub, else your amp is going to be working pretty inefficiently.

If you have 1 amp, unpowered sub and unpowered monitors, you'd have to run through some sort of passive/postamp crossover. Some subs have crossovers built in so you'd go

mix out --> amp --> sub --> NS10m
mix out --> amp --> x-over --> sub & NS10m

Powered subs usually have a parallel passthrough built in (and usually a variable shelf for attenuating the sub frequency.)

with passive parallel:
mix out --> sub --> amp --> NS10m

And there are subs that will power your monitors too.
mix out --> sub --> NS10m

Finally, if your sub doens't have an x-over, you have to split your mix out.
mix out --> amp --> NS10m
mix out --> sub

Thank you. This gives me a better idea of the options.
