need basic info about monitoring

hi guys, just a basic question:

My PCI card (M-Audio Audiophile 192, ) has ¼'' outs that I use to connect to my mixer (to monitor the level of my monitors and headphones). If I connect an external DA converter to my Audiophile via SPDIF, would I be able to send signal to both external DAC with SPDIF and to my mixer via ¼'' cables at the same time? In other words, would I be able to say simultaneously control my monitor levels with DAC volume knob but use my mixer to control my headphones or a second pair of monitors for that matter (with that signal going through the Audiophile DA conversion, not that of of the external DAC)?

thanks in advance

You should be able to, just make sure that both outputs are showing up as available at the same time in your DAW software and you're good to go.
