SPL MIXDREAM/PHOENIX NICERIZER

I am debating myself between the Nicerizer 16 and the SPL Mixdream...I know are different but seems both have a good sound.

Which one will help make your mixes sound more pro, in your face with depth and detail?

I still use both and belive I'll use them even when some small console (API or Tonelux) landed here finally.
They are different, SPL is more glossier, somehow deeper and wider, but less mojo and joy than Nicerizer. Also, Nicer pan pot is really worth having. I could live with any of them.
I can't say that any of them produces a pro result alone, just by adding them to chain .
They might enable you to make right choices with outboards and put elements of mix together in way impossible ITB. Would it be better at the end depends on skills, creativity, initial tracks and other gears used.
This is basically reason why many people after short, direct comparison ITB vs. summing box in their studios came to conclusion that summing box is kind of non-sense or that no instant improvement could be heard.
Don't expect that just adding summing box will make day-night difference.
But it is nuance without which I can't live anymore.

i would never describe the nicer as 'in your face', which to me implies an aggressiveness or forwardness in the mids/top. if anything, the nicer is going to sweeten things. it sounds huge, it sounds fat, but i don't know that it excels at forward.

Browsing the Internet I saw that Mercenary Audio sells a SPL MixDream Demo Unit at a discount.

Could be interesting.

Hope this helps,
Martijn.
