Queen studio photo from Jazz

Does anybody remember that great photo from the inside of Queen's Jazz album from 1978 ?

A picture of a large recording hall where Freddie was lying on top of a grand piano, Brian was changing strings or something, sitting among his huge selection of guitars and amps, Roger had a drum kit, timpani, gongs and more stuff and John was there too, although I can't remember what he was doing or how many basses he had..

I always remember that photo to be very inspiring to me. I thought it would be a good idea to have it as a desktop picture in the studio but I can't find this photo on the internet. Which is strange because everything is on the net.

But it is an awesome photo.

You're right. On Spilt Milk there's a great large panoramic picture from the studio with all the instruments. Although it's rather a bunch of pictures made into one. Seems like they didn't only copy the sounds and songwriting styles

I just scanned this for the CD box set. The recreated all of the LP artwork for every studio album through The Game.

Enjoy.

I used to stare at that photo for hours as I listened to the record over and over again.

Which studio is that?

Studios listed are Mountain and Super Bear. One in Montreuz and one in Nice.

From Mountain's website (Mountain Studios) , it looks like it was taken at Mountain.

Here for the gear

Its not Montreuz.

Indeed its not a normal studio either.

Its a big hall in the hotel they took over in France.

The hotel where the tour de France travelled nearby and sparked off a few songs on the Jazz LP.

There were some pictures on Brianmay.com which showed the same scene in the modern day hotel and compared with that one on the LP. Obviously its full of typical hotel furniture now. I just tried to search for it, but not had time to find it quickly. But have no fear those pictures are on Brianmay.com somewhere.

Cheers
